Webinar “All Science against Climate Change”
Tomorrow, December 19, 2012, at 13:00 GMT (15:00 Ukrainian time) will host a webinar “All Science against Climate Change” (ASaCC) to prepare draft project of the 7th Framework Programme for competition Marie Curie - International Research Staff Exchange Scheme (IRSES). - Link >>
Since the contest is dedicated to the support for training and career development of researchers and provides for mandatory participation of countries such as Moldova, Russia, Ukraine, the project is proposed to transfer the main focus of the European scientific expertise involved in learning and sharing experiences “Scientific Diaspora” of these countries. Experience in various training workshops on FP7, the European scientists who conducted with simultaneous translation into the language of the country where the workshop was held, usually have almost zero efficiency. This is due to differences in the mentality of the lecturers and the participants, in the organizational approach to research activities and similar differences in economics, politics, culture and ethics. When at such events serves a former researcher of the local university or institute, which has adapted to the European scientific community, it is well understood among the local scientific community, and it is easier to transfer the European experience of research in specific topics.
The second argument to bring to the project “Scientific Diaspora” is the need for a “Balanced Exchange” scientists from the European Union and third countries. This is understandable without comment.
Choosing a name the project “All Science against Climate Change” is defined the relevance of research in this area: from the natural sciences and engineering and ending the economic and social sciences. Incurred in connection with climate change issues in all spheres of human activity can only be solved by using a multidisciplinary approach, which requires the convergence of all the sciences, bringing together scientists from all countries.
